The Lies Of Men - God Was A Woman

Long before venerate male gods, our ancestors worshiped the goddesses. The belief that the universe was created by a female deity was present in almost all ancient cultures. With the advent of monotheistic religions, which only admitted a male god, goddesses were dethroned. In the West, many have come to be associated with the Virgin Mary, others were turned into holy and others were excluded from history or accused by the priests of being demons and prostitutes.

In the Babylonian writings Ishtar was the light of the world that opens the womb, do justice, gives strength and forgive. However, the Bible describes her as a prostitute. She is considered the devil incarnate.

Persephone was a Greek goddess. Goddess of earth and spring growth, daughter of Zeus and Demeter. She became queen of the underworld and Hades wife. She knew the secrets of darkness.

The Lies Of Men - The Despair Of Lamia

“The despair of Lamia” is the “The Lies of Men” project’s first track to be released. 

 Lamia was a beautiful queen of Libya, daughter of Poseidon and lover of Zeus, who became a child-eating daemon. Zeus’ jealous wife, Hera, killed all of Lamia’s children and cursed her with the inability to close her eyes so that she would always obsess over the image of her dead children. Her despair transformed her into a monster who hunted and devoured the children of others.
