The Lies Of Men - The Fall Of Ishtar
"To Hades' darkened land, whence none return,
Queen Ishtar, Sin's great daughter, now doth turn;
Inclined her ear and listened through the void
That lay beneath of every path devoid,
The home of darkness, of the Under-World"

The Lies Of Men - Mother Kali
Kali was Shiva's daughter. High priestess of Thuggees, indian goddess of black magic.
Oh Kali! Why dost Thou roam about nude?
Art Thou not ashamed. Mother!
Garb and ornaments Thou hast none; yet Thou
pridest in being King's daughter.
Oh Mother! Is it a virtue of Thy family that
Thou placest thy feet on Thy Husband?
Thou are nude; Thy Husband is nude;
You both roam cremation grounds.
Oh Mother! We are all ashamed of you;
Do put on Thy garb.
Thou hast cast away Thy necklace of jewels,
Mother, and worn a garland of human heads.

The Lies Of Men - The Sirens' Song
The Sirens were beautiful young women who bewitched sailors with their enchanting voices and songs and lured them to shipwreck on the rocks.
The metaphor of shipwreck is a moral collapse by allowing a bewitching, beautiful female to seduce you.
"STEER, hither steer your wingèd pines,
All beaten mariners!
Here lie Love's undiscover'd mines,
A prey to passengers
Perfumes far sweeter than the best
Which make the Phoenix' urn and nest.
Fear not your ships,
Nor any to oppose you save our lips;
But come on shore,
Where no joy dies till Love hath gotten more.
For swelling waves our panting breasts,
Where never storms arise,
Exchange, and be awhile our guests:
For stars gaze on our eyes.
The compass Love shall hourly sing,
And as he goes about the ring,
We will not miss
To tell each point he nameth with a kiss.
Then come on shore,
Where no joy dies till Love hath gotten more."
The Sirens' Song by William Browne, of Tavistock. 1588–1643

The Lies Of Men - Lies About Lilith
Lilith was a goddess worshiped in Mesopotamia. She was associated with winds and storms that are believed to be carriers of the disease and death.
It is said that was the first woman created by God with Adam. She abandoned him, leaving the Garden of Eden because of a dispute over gender equality.
She is accused of being the serpent led Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.

She is accused of being the serpent led Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.
Two of far nobler shape, erect and tall,
Godlike erect, with native honour clad
In naked majesty, seemed lords of all,
And worthy seemed; for in their looks divine
The image of their glorious Maker shon,
Truth, wisdom, sanctitude severe and pure
Severe, but in true filial freedom placed,
Whence true authority in men: though both
Not equal, as their sex not equal seemed;
For contemplation he and valour formed,
For softness she and sweet attractive grace;
He for God only, she for God in him.

The Lies Of Men - Empusa Craved Blood
Empusa is a demigoddess of Greek mythology. She was the beautiful daughter of the goddess Hecate and the spirit Mormo.
But she had a dark side and craved blood. She seduced young men as they slept before drinking their blood and eating their flesh.
I met a lady in the meads
Full beautiful, a faery’s child;
Her hair was long, her foot was light,
And her eyes were wild.
She took me to her elfin grot,
And there she gazed and sighed deep,
And there I shut her wild sad eyes
So kissed to sleep.
I saw their starved lips in the gloam
With horrid warning gaped wide,
And I awoke, and found me here
On the cold hill side.
And there she gazed and sighed deep,
And there I shut her wild sad eyes
So kissed to sleep.
I saw their starved lips in the gloam
With horrid warning gaped wide,
And I awoke, and found me here
On the cold hill side.
